Three day nanny for family
Family information: An Australian family living in Duivendrecht, Amsterdam are looking for a nanny three days per week for their girl's ages nine and eleven. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, you will start at either 1.30/2 pm and finish at 7.30/8 pm the hours will be confirmed before you start. On a Friday you will work from 12 - 8 pm. There is the possibility of extra hours during the school holidays. Flexibility is key for this job.
The start date is flexible ideally the beginning of January.
Ideal candidates need to be very tidy, well organized, patient, kind, and intuitive. The family would love a nanny with their own flair who thinks creatively.
The children love pranks, being outside, baking, and creative activities. They are both very active and adventurous. In general, no screens will be used when you are on duty. Treating the girls as individuals and splitting your time between their needs. The eldest has gymnastics throughout the week so driving her to classes will be a large part of your duties. The Mum has a divide and conquers approach you will take it in turns to take the girls to their individual activities.
The family allows the girls freedom within clear boundaries. Being honest with the children, role modeling behavior, and owning your mistakes are important qualities. The family encourages discussions, no bribing, and building empathy.
Commitment: Being able to commitment long term is extremely important. Initial contract will be for a year and if its a good fit they are likely to want to extend.
Duties: Part of your job will be cooking for the family, loading dishwasher, and school pick-ups, and keeping the children's bedrooms tidy and organized. Due to health issues, you may need to provide the Mum with extra support with cooking and meal prep.
The eldest daughter is on the elite athletic track so has some dietary requirements. The Mum is happy to provide guidance and recipes.
Due to family health issues, you need to have a very conscious and cautious approach to COVID.
They have chickens and a large puppy. You don’t have any responsibilities regarding the pets. They also have a cleaner.
Experience and qualifications required: A nanny who has had at least two previous nanny jobs and ideally a minimum of five years childcare experience.
Skills required: For this job, you must be a confident driver and a highly competent and confident cook.
You must have a valid driving license and be happy to drive your automatic car in Amsterdam. It’s appreciated if you can also cycle a bakfiets but not a requirement.
Salary: The family is happy to pay a higher salary and have you work under the employment contract, be self-employed or work under domestic working regulations depending on your requirements. The priority is finding the right nanny who will commit for at least a year.

Agency requirements: Applicants must have an EU passport or already have a permit or visa for the Netherlands. Applicants need a minimum of three years of full-time professional childcare experience, valid pediatric first aid, and a recent police check to register.
