Police Check Policy

Holgate Nannies is happy to conduct your agency interview before you obtain a police check. However, to apply for jobs, attend trial days, or start a placement, you must have a valid police check that has been processed within the past 16 weeks.

Netherlands-based candidates
If you have been living in the Netherlands for more than 6 months you will need a VOG (police good conduct certificate) which has been processed within the past 16 weeks. If you've been living in the Netherlands for less than 6 months it's possible you may need a police check from your previous country. Every police check application can check different areas, so we are happy to process your check to ensure it meets our requirements. Please note there are costs associated. You also need a BSN and DIGID to apply for a VOG.

Relocating for work
If you are relocating to the Netherlands for work you will be required to provide a police check from the current country you are resident. It must have been processed within the past 16 weeks. Once you have moved, you will also need a VOG (Dutch police good conduct certificate) from the Netherlands. Holgate Nannies can process this once you have a BSN and DIGID. It needs processing as soon as the BSN and DIGID have been obtained. You can start work in The Netherlands without a VOG as long as you have a valid police check from your current country of residence.

UK-based candidates
Candidates must have the following:
* An enhanced DBS certificate
* On the update system.

Returning candidates
If you are returning to Holgate Nannies after being placed and your police check is older than 16 weeks, it will need processing again.

All costs for the above are the candidates' responsibility.

If you're unsure about any of these requirements or your circumstances are a little different, please get in touch. We know every candidate's situation is unique, especially if you're relocating internationally, and we're always happy to talk you through the process and help you understand what's needed.
